Last Friday was Jaidynn's 2nd birthday! That night we went out to dinner with Amma and Papa and she got her big birthday presents: a new slide and a couple other outside toys from Mom and Dad and a mini 4 wheeler from Amma and Papa! She loved them all.
On Saturday we went to the zoo. I didn't realize I'd be SO excited to take her, I was like a little kid...I could hardly stand it. ha ha. It met every expectation and Jaidynn absolutely LOVED it! We got tons of fun pictures, ate all the junk food we wanted, and saw every animal. Things like the zoo are so much more fun when you get to see them through the eyes of your 2 year old.
On Sunday we had family and a few friends over and did a casual birthday party. We had yummy food, great company and they all showered Jaidynn with presents! She loves having people over at her house and there were so many kids to play with and so many new toys to enjoy! I've never seen a two year old get SO excited over presents. She thought they were the greatest thing ever!
Three days worth of a birthday seems like a lot but each day was so very fun...and...exhausting ha ha. She walks around now singing the "Happy Birthday" song and I love it. I think this was the start to a long line of fun birthdays for our beautiful little girl.
A couple of mile markers I want to remember...
Jaidynn knows all her colors, shapes and counts to 13. :0) I had hoped she could learn those 3 sets of things and I love that she has. She also randomly learned (from who knows where) her vowels. She'll come in and say "A, E, I, O, U" I'm just waiting for the "sometimes Y." :0) She is very physically active running, jumping and playing. She says the cutest things in the cutest ways. In the morning she happily announces that she had good dreams. She learned that a bandaid fixes you when you get hurt but they're not a "bandaid" to Jaidynn, they're a "doodaid" which is so cute! She loves friends and animals and is so aware of others feelings. The couple of times my pregnancy hormones have gotten the best of me, she'll come give me a hug and pat my back and tell me everything is ok. She is extremely smart and amazes us with how much she learns and does every day. Her favorite song is "Popcorn popping on the apricot tree," she knows all the words and actions. Sometimes she'll be laying in bed for her nap and I can hear her singing it to herself. She loves being outside and is such a good listener. We love everything about our beautiful two year old and can't wait to see all the other amazing things she does and says in the upcoming years. We're just so grateful that she's ours!
